Cheap flights to Malta, Malta
Find a cheap flight to Malta, one of the World’s smallest countries. With its enviable position right in the middle of the Mediterranean, the Maltese Islands have beguiled people for millennia. In fact, Malta has been inhabited since 5200AD and history buffs will have a whale of a time exploring the megalithic temples, Roman remains, quaint backstreets and regal architecture built by the Knights of St John. Sunny for most of the year and sweltering in summer, Malta boasts great beaches, stunning dive sites and plenty of fun and family activities. Though the eclectic history of the islands feels omnipresent, a passionate cosmopolitan edge is evident in the upmarket hotels, bars, clubs and eateries, ensuring that this is a destination you’ll want to discover again and again.
If you take a flight to Malta make sure you catch the ferry across to Gozo. Smaller than its big sister but stunningly beautiful, either by land or sea with walking and diving popular activities.
We offer cheap flights to Malta up to twice a week from East Midlands Airport.

Best beach:
Ramla Bay
With its expansive stretch of bright red sand, you’d be hard pressed to find a more original-looking bay on the Maltese Islands. Ramla is on Malta’s sister island of Gozo, a 20-minute ride away on the Gozo Channel ferry. Take this opportunity to explore this sleepier and smaller island with its many treasures. The beach itself is sandy and safe, with plenty of scope for paddling and swimming. You’ll find all the facilities you need for a super day on the sand here, including water sports, umbrellas, sun beds and a great kiosk.

Best pastizzi:
Crystal Palace
If you’re wondering what pastizzi are, then you’re still missing out. These small filo-pastry parcels stuffed with ricotta cheese or a pea mixture simply melt in the mouth and locals gorge on them. Not exactly what the doctor ordered, you’ll find them in pastizzerijas dotted all over the island, but none can beat those made by Martin at Crystal Palace. Leave your longing for luxury outside, pull up a pew and chow down with the locals in true Maltese style.

Palazzo Parisio
If you’re at home with the good things in life, head to Palazzo Parisio, a magnificent 17th-century palace run by the noble Baroness Scicluna. Explore the gold-gilded upstairs and relish in the lush gardens – probably the most beautiful on the island. The Caffé Luna tearooms make the ideal pitstop in plush surroundings. Dine on petite cakes and sandwiches by the fountain, or head indoors to be enveloped by pretty pink velvet.

Best day trip:
Comino
As close as you’re going to get to a deserted island in these parts, Comino is the smallest of the three main Maltese Islands. With just four full-time inhabitants and an admittedly run-down hotel, you’ll still have to jostle for a space on the sand during peak season. Take the little ferry from Cirkewwa (the northern-most point in Malta) and aim to get there early. The Blue Lagoon, Comino’s tiny beach, is stunning and the countryside walks inland make for great photo ops.
